Traffic links and abuse prevention

Public /go links redirect to a destination selected by the operator. To limit guessing and abuse, we temporarily store a keyed hash of your connection IP, up to five recent request times, and a block expiry. This routing protection does not store the raw IP, browser fingerprint, answers, or a history of link IDs. A sixth request within one minute blocks these links for five minutes; repeated blocked requests do not extend that period. Expired protection records are cleared at least once a minute while the service is running and on startup. Shared networks share this limit. We check destinations with a server-side HEAD request without visitor cookies or credentials. An external destination has its own privacy practices, and its operator may count that check as a request. Invalid, unavailable or unverified destinations lead to our homepage. The public link and robots file do not remove the separate password on the rest of this preview.

About this preview

This is a technical testing site, not a live insurance marketplace. Use fictional questionnaire details. By continuing to use this preview, you agree to the limited processing described in this notice to the extent permitted by applicable law. Using the site does not waive your privacy rights or replace any separate consent required by law.

What we save and when

Unsent answers stay in page memory, with the limited V2 browser draft described below. When you select “View my matches”, we save the completed questionnaire and a limited technical snapshot in the database operated for this preview. An online preview stores this information on the operator’s server; a local preview stores it on the local computer. The snapshot may include the connection IP address when reliably available, browser and operating-system information, device category, screen and browser-window dimensions, language, time zone, a cleaned traffic source and campaign tags, and questionnaire timing and step events. We do not record the contents of fields in step events. An unavailable connection IP is labeled unavailable rather than inferred.

Temporary V2 drafts and vehicle lists

The V2 auto form may keep a temporary draft in this tab’s session storage so a refresh does not erase your progress. It includes answers, unfinished input, your current step and, after a save attempt, the request needed for an explicit retry. It is limited to 128 KiB and expires 24 hours after editing. Browser session restoration may retain it after closing a window; do not rely on closing the window to erase it. Restarting, starting a new comparison, a confirmed save or Forget this device clears the relevant draft. Drafts of protected saved details are shown only after a current access check and cleared when that access is lost. This does not extend recognition or access cookies. Browser storage can be unavailable or cleared, so recovery is not guaranteed. Drafts are not sent to insurers or saved in our database until you submit. Separately, V2 may cache public vehicle names and IDs in local storage for up to 24 hours, limited to 80 lists and 2 MiB. That cache contains no questionnaire answers, contact details, passwords or access keys.

Why we use it

We use this information to operate and test the preview, investigate errors and suspicious submissions, and understand how completed questionnaires reach us. Saved records are accessible through the password-protected owner panel. An online technical preview also requires a separate site-access password.

Returning to your saved details

After a completed questionnaire is saved, this browser may receive a first-party, HttpOnly cookie containing a random recognition key, not your name, contact information or answers. Your answers remain in the preview database. We do not set a fixed overall end date for browser recognition: the cookie is renewed when you return, subject to your browser’s storage limits. A cookie is requested for up to 400 days at a time, but your browser or you may remove it sooner. We cannot guarantee that a browser will remember you forever and do not recreate a deleted cookie using other identifiers. Access to full answers is separate: it expires after 30 minutes of inactivity or eight hours, whichever comes first. After it expires, confirmation is required before you can open your answers. This version does not send real confirmation emails or texts. A protected test delivery service is available only in explicitly enabled local tests, not in the online preview. If confirmation is unavailable, your saved answers stay protected. Select “Forget this device” to revoke recognition and access in this browser. This does not delete saved questionnaires. Starting a new comparison does not automatically reuse a previous person’s profile. Opening saved details never sends a new questionnaire.

How long we keep it

Technical snapshots expire after 30 days. Expired snapshots are no longer shown and are removed by the cleanup process while the application is running or on its next startup. Saved questionnaires and submission records remain until the operator removes them. The operator may create protected database backups for recovery; expired technical snapshots are removed before restored data is made available. This testing preview has no public privacy-request service.

No marketing or insurer delivery

We do not send questionnaires or technical snapshots to insurers, advertising networks or analytics providers. Vehicle-catalog requests send only catalog lookup parameters to NHTSA. No marketing calls, texts, policy purchase or partner submission is authorized by using this preview or saving a questionnaire. We do not collect precise GPS location, clipboard content, other-site browsing history, keystroke recordings or a persistent device fingerprint. Access passwords are used only for authentication and are not added to questionnaire or technical records. This notice covers technical testing, not a live insurance service.

Campaign links and offer pages

Our /go links can direct you to an offer or to a campaign page at /form. We measure link outcomes, campaign-page openings and offer-button clicks on our own server. Records may include a source identifier, sanitized campaign labels, timestamps, broad device/browser categories, language, referring hostname and the network IP address received through our trusted server connection. We do not store full referring addresses, contacts, full browser headers or advertising click IDs in these statistics. Separate security controls use a protected IP-derived value to limit abusive requests. These technical details do not establish your identity and are not used to join campaign visits to questionnaire profiles.

A short-lived signed link can connect a link visit to one campaign-page visit. The page holds its measurement key in memory for at most 24 hours. “Privacy choices” on /form turns optional measurement off without blocking access or the offer link. We also respect Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. The preference cookie lasts as long as the browser permits, up to 400 days; it contains a choice, not your answers. Existing records are not deleted by changing this choice. Campaign records have no automatic age-based deletion; access is restricted to authorized administrators. Database backups may retain earlier copies.

Clicking an offer opens the destination website, whose own privacy terms apply. We do not attach questionnaire answers or the measurement key to that offer link. A button click is not a completed call, insurance quote, purchase or marketing consent. No advertising-platform conversions are sent by this measurement system.
